Lindsay Lee Photography – Blog bio picture
  • My camera is the tool that joins my eyes and my heart.

Children fascinate me, especially babies & toddlers. They seem to grow wings and fly before we are all really ready to let them go. As a mom myself, I see it every day: my baby girl went from saying a few words to saying full sentences in a matter of months, and she's now developing an endless imagination to top it off! I know she will continue to spread her wings, as all children do, and every age and stage will be a new and fascinating adventure!

With my heart and eyes to guide me, I can only hope to continue to use my camera to express my pure love and fascination with a new life, whether it be an expecting mother growing a new little person inside of her, a beautiful new baby, or capturing the milestones as our babies grow into blossoming children. After all, childhood is a magical time, perhaps because no matter how nostalgic we become as adults, we can never again experience first hand the joy and beauty of being a child.

Getting Back Into the Swing of Things! | Sarasota Maternity, Newborn, & Baby Photographer

Happy New Year! Wow! It’s hard to believe how quickly 2011 came and went. Last year at this time, I was excitedly awaiting the arrival of my second child, and first boy. Now I am a mother of two beautiful children, and I am constantly on my toes watching over my littlest! He is a VERY curious little boy, and a magnet for getting into anything he shouldn’t be!:)As they say, “Boys will be boys!” I’m finding my two children to be a wonderful, extraordinary blessing, filled with lots of love and lots of laughs:).

Now that my baby boy is nearly 9 months old (how did that happen!?), I’m finding myself getting ready to get back into the swing of things, photography-wise. I plan on steadily preparing myself to take on my first client of 2012, and I’ll keep you updated as to when I am 100% ready to do so! I’m very excited! It’s hard to say if my pregnancy related back injury is better yet, but it definitely has improved enough to do photo shoots (yay!). I cannot wait until all the behind the scenes stuff is done and I am ready to meet my first client of 2012. Will it be you?:)

Bath Time! | Let’s Do 52! | Sarasota Lifestyle Photographer

Upon looking over the photographs that I’ve captured over this past year, I’ve noticed a huge difference in my portrait to snapshot ratio: I have hardly taken any snapshots with my professional camera! I feel that snapshots are equally as important as professional portraits (blog post on this coming soon), and I find myself distressed that I’ve become so absorbed with planning professional photo shoots with my children that I’ve neglected to capture our real life as it’s happening! Shame on me!

With the start of the new year, I’ve made a commitment that will equalize my portrait to snapshot ratio for 2012. I call it: “Let’s Do 52“! I’m committing myself to grab out my professional camera at least once a week for every week in 2012, to capture our life as it’s happening, in real time, and letting go of imperfections. Anyone who knows me personally kn0ws what a huge perfectionist I am, so this will be much more difficult for me than it sounds! But, life is FAR from perfect, and lots of FUN!:)

So here we are! I had a lot of fun grabbing out my camera during bath time with my two little life loves! They both simply LOVE bath time, and it was a ton of splishy splashy silly fun! Life with a 3 year old and an 8 month old is an exciting, unpredictable, crazy adventure every day. I captured this picture at just the right moment as she decided this face was much more fun than a smile:), and it captures my daughter’s silly personality perfectly! Perfectly imperfect!

Stay tuned for next week’s random capture!

Extended Maternity Leave | Sarasota Baby & Child Photographer

I know that I had said earlier that I will be back to photograph the precious little ones in your life in July, but, as I’m sure we all know, things do not always go as planned. I am sad to say that I have a pregnancy related back injury. This injury is greatly limiting my ability to do even one photo shoot without being in extreme pain from all of the bending and lifting that a photo shoot requires. About the most I can do with photography at this point is to capture my own little ones as they grow, and even then, I have to very careful not to throw out my back. So, with my health as my top priority, I must extend my maternity leave until further notice. I can only hope that my back will heal soon, but only time will tell.

I am keeping my fingers crossed though, because photography is a great passion of mine, and I already miss interacting with and photographing precious new ones! In the mean time, I will try to update every now and then with portraits of my own little ones, and I will keep you updated as to when I am able to photograph your little ones again! Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during this time:).

{And because no post is complete without photographs, here are a few recent ones I have carefully captured of my little ones!}

Yup, He’s Mine! :) | Sarasota Newborn Photographer

The Lindsay Lee Photography has officially grown!!! Our precious baby boy was born on April 26, 2011 at 11:53pm, weighing 8 pounds, 11 ounces and 20 inches long. He is such a sweet, precious, and mellow baby boy, and we couldn’t be happier now that he is here! He, along with his big sister, fill my heart with such an incredible indescribable happiness! I am one proud and happy Momma to my two wonderful babies. Take a look at our newest little addition!:)

And my two babies together!:)

I’m enjoying every single minute with my two babies just being their mom:). I am still currently on maternity leave until further notice. I will make the announcement when I am available again to photograph a precious little one in your life. Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and understanding!:)

Sweet Baby Cy, Precious Baby Alexandra, & their Beautiful Family :) | Sarasota Newborn Photographer

Sometimes I cannot help but to fall in love with my clients, and this amazing family is no exception:).

Last week, I was visited by two very special newborns: sweet baby boy Cy and precious baby girl Alexandra, along with their beautiful family. Baby Cy & baby Alexandra are cousins, and each of these precious babies are tiny miracles and blessings for their family.

Baby Cy is newly adopted by his loving parents and beautiful older sister, Rio. He is simply such a sweet baby boy, and I fell in love with him and his family instantly:). By the looks of these two adorable baby cousins, you would think they are the same age, but guess again! Baby Alexandra was actually born 9 weeks early, and is actually 1.5 months old here!

I am so delighted to have captured the beginning of this family’s promising journey together:). Thank you so much for choosing me to capture this special time in your lives, and I hope you love your sneak peek!
